How to renovate your bathroom on a budget

Creating an amazing bathroom renovation can be difficult when you’re on a budget, but a few tips and tricks could save you some serious cash and allow you to have the bathroom of your dreams without the huge price tag.

Here are some tips for renovating your bathroom without spending top dollar.

Shop at bathroom outlets

If you’re in the market for a new bathroom consider taking a look at outlet stores for your tiles, vanity, tapware or shower screen, you’ll be surprised how much you can save by checking out discontinued accessories and materials that are limited in supply.

Just be sure to know the correct amounts that you need, as often once items are sold at outlets it’s difficult to find extras – especially if you are tiling your bathroom and need an extra few metres of tiles!

Create a unique bathroom design

Rather than the traditional base with two or three walls of glass, an open shower could save you a packet on your reno budget.

Using only one pane of glass, tiling the floor and creating a larger, lighter more usable shower space – could save you money and provide a modern and contemporary space that is stylish to boot.

Use less tiles

We all love the look of wall to ceiling tiles, but it’s super expensive and requires a whole stack of tiles.

If you’re looking to save some money, why not look at tiling to the top of the glass shower screen and then adding skirting around the rest of the bathroom – depending on your tile and size of the bathroom it could save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars on your bathroom reno.

Custom vs out of a box?

There is a vast range of ‘out of the box’ solutions for just about anything these days – bathrooms are no different. Your vanity units are a perfect example of this – why have it custom built when you can buy one in that is pre-made and cheaper? As long as it fits your space as you want it…you will save a packet.

Any renovations are taxing, however, if you spend a little time, shopping around, buying ahead of your build if you can store the materials in a clean/dry place ahead of time you will save.

If you’re looking to renovate your bathroom on a budget consider shopping around, putting a spin on the traditional bathroom and buying ready made to save big bucks on your renovation budget.
