Netflix & Koala: November

HOW DID IT GET TO NOVEMBER ALREADY? Did you know it’s only 8 more Fridays until Christmas? Don’t fret – you’ve got plenty of time for online shopping. Heck, a Koala mattress could be at your doorstop in less than 4 hours. So forget the ever-growing list of things-to-do, hop into bed, fire up that laptop and enjoy a solid few days of bingeing on the new Netflix content.

The Ivory Game: This is a real tearjerker, but one that we really believe is worth watching. It’s all about the dark and sinister ivory trade, and the film follows poachers in pursuit of ivory. Award-winning director Richard Ladkani & Academy Award-nominated director Kief Davidson went undercover for 16 months with a team of rangers, activists, intelligence operatives and conservationists to expose the trade for what it really is. A must watch for anyone mildly interested in animal conservation.

Gilmore Girls: A YEAR IN THE LIFE: Don’t lie, we KNOW you’re excited for this one. After (many, many) years of waiting, we’re so ready to be thrown back into the wonderful word of Gilmore Girls. Characters have grown up and three generations of Gilmore women struggle with change and complicated family bonds during a year in Stars Hollow. The seasons will focus on Lorelai, Rory and Emily equally, and the revival is one TO NOT MISS. Prepare yourself with snacks, gal pals and loads of tissues as we’re sure this will be a real journey to watch.

The Expanse: Recently acquired by Netflix, the Syfy space drama will take you on an epic journey through space and time. The 10-episode futuristic series was developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, and it based on the international best-selling book series. It’s set 200 years in the future, and focuses on after mankind has colonized the solar system. A young woman goes missing, and brings together an unforgettable chase through the solar system, exposing the greatest conspiracy in human history.

Blow: This controversial film follows the story of George Chung, the man who established the American cocaine market in the 1970s. With stars like Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Franka Potente, this is an absolutely incredibly cast that deliver an enthralling story. This isn’t one for the kids however, with the focus on Jung’s journey from small marijuana dealer to cocaine drug lord.

The Crown: A Netflix original series (6 seasons – strap yourself in!) this much anticipated series follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II, and is reportedly the most expensive television series ever made. Claire Foy plays the Queen, and this is absolutely a must watch for anyone that’s ever found themselves slightly fascinated by the monarchy, or became obsessed with the royal family during the most recent Royal Wedding. Each season (with approx. 10 episodes) will cover a decade of the Queen’s life.
